Outdoor Solutions x Ravin

November marked an important milestone for both Ravin Crossbows and Outdoor Solutions as the two brands came together at Oklahoma’s historic Cross Bell Ranch to kick off a new chapter in their partnership. Until now, the ranch had remained reserved for private use, but this kickoff will give Outdoor Solutions course participants a first hand experience within the beautiful ranch and the wild game that inhabit it. By adding Ravin to its lineup, Outdoor Solutions has been able to expand its traditionally rifle-focused courses into the archery world, giving attendees the chance to learn, shoot, and hunt with industry-leading crossbow technology.

Participants in the courses will have the opportunity to test Ravin’s latest crossbows in real-world scenarios, from long-range precision shooting to dynamic hog and whitetail hunts. Along the way, they will gain hands-on experience in field dressing, processing, and preparing wild game in the kitchen, learning from Outdoor Solutions’ expert instructors and professional chefs. Not to mention, all participants will also stay on the newly constructed world-class facilities, enhancing the experience and making the course even more immersive. Every aspect of the program is designed to provide practical skills, build confidence, and give hunters a full-circle experience that connects them to the outdoors and the food they harvest.

The Cross Bell Ranch’s rich Western heritage and expansive working-range environment sets the tone for this course. With its mix of cattle country, rugged creek bottoms, and wide-open prairie, the property provides a beautiful and challenging setting for participants to experience Ravin’s newest crossbows in real-world conditions, testing their precision, power, and reliability firsthand.

Like every upcoming Outdoor Solutions and Ravin From Field to Table course hosted at the Cross Bell Ranch, participants will begin at the recently constructed shooting range, which stretches back a mile long against a stunning Osage County backdrop. After product demonstrations and a safety briefing, arrows will fly, giving hunters the chance to build confidence and get dialed in before heading into the field.

Following range time, participants will make final preparations for the hunt before being guided to their designated blinds, targeting Oklahoma’s whitetail doe and hogs. The Cross Bell Ranch is flourishing with a large population of game, providing abundant opportunities to practice hunting skills and learn new methods to successfully and ethically harvest game.

Hunters are given a couple of days to harvest their animal, providing them every opportunity to experience Oklahoma and its wildlife. After a successful harvest of a whitetail doe and hog, the learning continues. Outdoor Solutions team members walk participants through each step of the process, starting off with field dressing, making the experience approachable, educational, and rewarding.

Outdoor Solutions also brings in an incredible team of wild game chefs to guide the course from there. Led by Chef Albert Wutsch, author of The Art of Cooking Venison, The Art of Barbecuing and Grilling Game, The Art of Cooking Game, and producer of The Art of Backyard Butchering, he and his staff provide hands-on instruction tailored to every skill level.

From there, participants move into the detailed work of butchering and meat cutting. This portion of the course is designed to build confidence step by step, showing hunters how to break down their animal with precision and respect. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, participants learn how to identify muscle groups, trim properly,

and create clean, usable cuts that translate directly to their home kitchens. What can feel intimidating at first quickly becomes exciting as each person gains a clear understanding of how to turn a field-harvested animal into quality meat they can be proud of.

With the meat prepared, participants head into the kitchen where professional chefs bring the experience full circle. Using the cuts they created themselves, hunters learn how to turn fresh wild game into delicious, approachable meals that highlight the quality of the harvest. From pulled pork enchiladas made with a freshly harvested hog to tender Venison Scaloppini Marsala, the chefs guide participants step by step through seasoning, cooking techniques, and presentation, showing how to bring out the best flavors in every cut. It is a moment that captures what hunting is truly about: respecting the animal, using every part with intention, and creating meals that participants can proudly share with family and friends.
